Watson IoT REST endpoint for checking device connectivity

It would be very nice instead of having 'iot-2/type/device_type/id/device_id/mon' topic to have REST API endpoint, so we would be able to check device connectivity status.

For our case we are building listening on mentioned MQTT topic is not very convenient as this leads to a case where in the end we need to persistent or store device connectivity data on some DB or in-memory cache. For us it would be easier if IoT Watson would provide such feature out of the box.
