Current boot option is not viewable from PowerVS like it is on the HMC.

It is possible to change the boot option from PowerVS, but there is no way to view what the current setting is.  To ensure it is set correctly, one must change to the desired setting then trust that it was set correctly before rebooting the virtual server image.
