This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Cloud and its products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

Currently the only way to get the bucket total number of objects and total size as is:
In the IBM Cloud Portal web UI go to the bucket configuration
Manually calling the API with curl https://config.cloud-object-storage.cloud.ibm.com/v1/b/{my-bucket} -H 'authorization: bearer <IAM_token>'
However the ibmcloud CLI tool already has a cos plugin that could be enhanced with this feature. I guess all it would have to do is call the API shown above in 2) .
This would make it a lot easier to get info for buckets using the CLI.

Per case CS3943317, client is suggesting the above "bucket metadata" GET to be added to the "ibmcloud cos" section of the IBM Cloud CLI.
Currently, this "bucket metadata" information is only available in the IBM Cloud COS bucket UI as mentioned previously.
The responses (object_count and object_size) for this GET update every 2-10 minutes (It varies).
The ability to pull bucket object_count and object_size via the IBM Cloud CLI is needed by clients using the shell/cli in their automation.
