A Deployable Architecture supports Day 1 deployment patterns but not upgrade scenarios. We need a programmatic way to disable the upgrade button on the UI.
Not all DAs support the full operational lifecycle. There is a valid pattern of usage where the application lifecycle is managed by other means. For example the Maximo Application Suite DA only really automates the deployment of the MAS CLI. The CLI manages the rest of the deploy, update, upgrade scenarios after that. Unfortunately this means the upgrade button on the UI becomes a point of confusion and there is no way to explicitly disable it for this type of use case.
This idea has been raised in consultation with Greg Effrein and Chris Mitchell.
