Improve Slack Notifications to Avoid the 3,000‑Character Text Object Limit

I would like to request improvements to Slack notifications used as the distribution list for IBM Cloud account alerts, so that they do not hit Slack’s 3,000‑character limit for text objects.
Please enhance the system to either split long notifications or send a summary with a link to detailed information.

  • Background
    Within our project, we have a dedicated Slack channel set up to receive notifications from IBM Cloud. We routinely check this channel as part of our operational process.
    However, an investigation by IBM Cloud Support revealed that some notifications failed to be delivered because they exceeded Slack’s 3,000‑character limit for text objects.
    When we requested an improvement—such as splitting long notifications or sending a summary with a link to detailed information so that the message does not hit Slack’s 3,000‑character limit—we were advised to submit the request through this channel. Therefore, we are submitting it here.

  • Benefits of This Improvement
    We will be able to confirm IBM Cloud notifications in real time, allowing us to quickly discuss and determine response plans for maintenance activities with our customers.
    It is expected that similar inquiries to IBM Cloud Support regarding notification failures will be reduced.
