IBM Cloud - Structured Ideas

This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Cloud and its products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Be transparent in use of third-party services

The BlueMix web GUI (bluemix.net) depends on multiple services from multiple vendors for implementation. Many of these vendors are implemented in the browser through JavaScript and utilize cookies as well. Certain browsers, e.g. Chrome and Firefox, provide extensions to manage JavaScript execution (e.g. NoScript for FF).

When visiting BlueMix a link should be provided that informs the user of the various services being employed, their functionality and purpose, and what information, if any, they are collecting and intended use.

While most people do not notice these multiple service being employed or the setting of cookies, a small minority, including me, does find the practice to be both common across many Web properties, as well as dismaying due to lack of disclosure.

To experience for yourself, install NoScript add-on for Firefox and set Firefox preferences for third-party cookies to "Ask every time" and then load up bluemix.net.
